You belong here just as much as anyone else.

Why We Exist.

Let’s face it and be honest, being a woman can be rough. We have so much pressure to always appear as though we have everything together, as though our lives are perfect. But they are not. We are just doing the best we can with whatever we have been given. And that’s ok. Here, at the Vent Society, we vent about the perfectly imperfect realities of our worlds. But we don’t just talk about the bad. We talk a lot more about the good. More specifically, how to make the best of the cards we have been dealt. And we do so while also building a local community of strong and supportive women.

Our programs create safe spaces for women to listen for inner wisdom, recover our voices, connect with our communities and come into rhythm with ourselves. We help each woman discover her own way of being alive and well amidst the multiple changes and stages that are part of the natural female lifecycle.

What We Offer.

Each session consists of 6 gatherings, where we meet once a week in a beautiful, relaxed private residence. Each gathering is 1.5 hours long and each week features a different topic of discussion, which ranges from confidence to health to habit formation and goal setting. You will be led with discussion questions and given handouts that outline some of the research and resources on the topic. No one is forced to speak, so if you are shy and prefer to just listen and learn from others, that is totally ok too! We are also given time to discuss our issues within each topic and your group leader and other participants are able to offer potential solutions to help solve or ameliorate these issues, which helps to make your future everyday better.

Our curriculum draws from the fields of health sciences, mind-body medicine, interpersonal neurobiology, and media literacy and incorporates self-compassion, forgiveness, mindfulness, and other mind-body skills to help you listen to and trust yourself.

Motivation comes from within — and we’re here to help you activate it.

Why Join?

01 — Meet supportive women from your local community

In a world filled with toxic messages and people, where 60% of the American adult population suffers from loneliness, we provide the means to connect with women from your local community in a meaningful way that will have a positive impact on your life.

02 — Become a better version of you

Women from all walks of life are seeking ways to enhance their self-esteem, achieve their goals, and discover their best selves. In this quest for empowerment, they turn to those who can save them from trial and error and guide them toward their full potential.

Vent Society is designed to connect and unite women while giving them the resources and tools to flourish and thrive. We teach you easy and life changing techniques to take control of your own life. Learn how to manage your emotions, boost self confidence and create a foundation for self empowerment.

03 — Find solutions to your everyday problems

“To be aware of a single shortcoming within oneself is more useful than to be aware of a thousand in someone else,” His Holiness the Dalai Lama has pointed out.

At Vent Society, we don’t just talk about our problems, we devise solutions to tackle those problems together. Through our sessions you will discover easy and enjoyable methods that you can use to help you to manage emotions effectively, create empowerment, and live a happier life.

Each week of our sessions is broken down into a different discussion topic, such as confidence or habit formation and goal setting. We delve into each topic week by week and the issues we personally face within each topic. Then we help each other make sense and devise solutions to our struggles. Through guest speakers and words of advice, we help each other navigate the issues we face to make our realities a better world.

04 — Join a supportive community

In a world where women are too often pulling each other down, it’s time we start lifting each other up. Time to finally join and be a part of a judgement free gathering of women, which sad to say, rarely exists nowadays.

We empower women to practice compassionate self-care, support each other in doing so, and inspire future generations with authentic self-love. We help women navigate toxic cultural messages about health, beauty and relationships, so we can be role models, advocates, and encouragers of positive female identity development in our families, communities, workplaces, and other spheres of influence.

At Vent Society, we do not need to bring anything except ourselves. These are spaces where self-acceptance happens because we’re given a place to come and be as we are.

05 — Make your life less toxic

The Vent Society principles of self-acceptance and compassion are a refreshing alternative to cultural messages about how our lives should be that activate shame and comparison.

Our sessions will teach you what boundaries are and how to use them effectively and easily, so that you can be more confident, increase low self esteem, and value yourself in a world drowning in toxic messages.

What People Are Saying

How our journey began

On the first day of kindergarten Michelle spotted a cool girl on the tire swing with kind eyes. She walked up to her and asked her if she would be her friend. Kate replied yes, and the rest is history. The girls quickly became best friends and over the years, despite being in multiple different cities and countries, they remained close friends.

Both the girls had one strong characteristic in common, the desire to help other people. This led Kate to become a teacher for children with disabilities and then a thriving marriage family therapist, and Michelle to work at the United Nations and then at a research driven non-profit. It is also what led them to create the Vent Society. Seeing so many of their friends struggle in their everyday lives and after Michelle attended a season of mommy & me after giving birth to her second child, the girls realized that local community groups for women, in which they can talk about their issues while also developing into a better version of themselves, should not just exist for women right after they give birth, but should exist for all women during all phases of their lives. Wanting to provide women with this support, resources, and community connection led them to the creation of the Vent Society.

If you face your flaws, you’ll notice the change.

“Learning from a diverse group of women was really beneficial to me personally. The discussions really helped me to get a sense that I was not alone in my self-doubt and that there were many things that we as women need to do, including sharing more and being more open with our needs and desires in order for us all to raise the bar. I gained a lot of self-confidence and knowledge during these past six weeks, and I will absolutely be using some of the tools, resources and learnings from this course to make a difference in my life going forward.”
